Kite 2017 is a fun family festival that aims to enhance the profile of our new state as a premier leisure and sporting destination. It is a festival with a difference, and all proceeds will go towards the social cause of empowering and educating the girl child. So come and color the sky for a cause.
Kite 2017 promises to be more and different, bigger and better than Kite 2016, Telanganas first international kite festival, a pioneering event held in January 2016 at the Aga Khan Academy.
Telangana State Government has requested Kite 2017 be extended into a week-long festival spread across four districts with Hyderabad City events:
- This year we expect a total footfall of 50,000+ given multiple locations.
- International kite flying teams from 16 countries have confirmed participation as well as 10 pan Indian clubs.
- A dedicated Inclusive Schools Program for government schools has been designed as festival pre-event.
- Telangana culture will be celebrated through a full cultural program, a regional food fair, local arts and crafts stalls and performance art.
